I mean, Trixie is still not on “good” terms with Twilight and Maud isn’t exactly friends with Mane6 either. So what if Lightning Dust is still Rainbow Dash’s rival?
 
Lightning is actually a rather decent pony with some ambitious dream. She holds almlost no grudge against RD and is encouraging Ex-Bolts to not stop from flying.
 
Both Starlight and Lightning Dust are ponies who “fight the system” so I would like LD on Starlight’s team.

This is Starlight’s friend list Maud and Trixie we established in previous seasons. Spitfire was one of the ponies that helped teach when the main six was gone, so it is assumed that Spitfire knows and likes Starlight enough to help. Then the uploader took the Suri suggestion and Lightning Dust only for Lightning not to reform so she got the boot.
