In a fandom where Dom/Dom shipping is all the rage (Dash/AJ, AJ/Rarity, Octavia/DJ Pon3), I never understood why people assume a relationship between two Doms lasts longer and has better success than a relationship with two Subs.
 
I mean, granted, there might be some trust and and protection issues that needs to be dealt with between two reserved personalities, but all these anti-ship topics also seem to boil down to “this has never worked in the history of ever”.

The relationships you are idealizing may be good for TV ratings but you don’t seem to understand what people in real life want from a partner. I obviously can’t sway your opinion or make you think like me so let’s just agree to disagree.

What Bolan said works for any kind of relationship. It’s only romantic because you want it to.

^ That’s what shipfics are for; they put characters who may not interact in canon in a situation together, and a romance buds off from that. Hell, there are incredibly popular ships out there now where the characters never even met, nor have reason to meet, so don’t you say there’s no way they would meet each other.
 
Bolan hit the nail on the head why they would conceivably stay together. As for being “boring,” you’re pretty much telling us pretty much any couple that doesn’t get into fights with each other often, understand their counterpart, and enjoy a calm lifestyle don’t deserve to get together. It could work, and it’s only as boring as you perceive (or the bad shipfic you read, other pairings have those too.)

The problem with this ship is that they are both very shy individuals so they couldn’t go anywhere with a relationship, or even start one, due to fear of approach. Not to mention seeing that Fluttershy is close friends with Applejack means that she has met and knows Big Mac and seeing that they are both shy means that they still don’t know each other that well and have nothing to form an attraction over in the first place. The problem with “dual partners” is that due to a lack of conflict and so much understanding means that it would be really boring. A couple should play their strengths and flaws off of each other in order to grow close and have an interesting and very loving relationship, not to mention to help them become better individuals. This ship is bad because not only does it not make sense but it is also uninteresting.

You might have a point,if you are talking about introvert people or other introvert fictional characters who,had substantial interactions with each other.But you can’t be talking about Big Macintosh and Fluttershy because for that there must be some kind of connection,which obviously these two don’t have.

This is a shipping that extroverts just don’t seem to understand.

Horrible shipping

I’m not much for serious shipping myself,but Fluttershy is actually the mane six member I have the hardest time seeing Macintosh with. I think that he’d actually fit better with Spike.

I don’t get why people think these two would be good for each other. Nothing would get accomplished, ever. Big Mac would try too hard to be too nice to Fluttershy and she’d dodge and avoid every compliment and gift he got for her. It just wouldn’t work.
