@Oblivion Binder
The people over-reacting are treating those who think Derpy is offensive as nothing but crap on their shoes. Why should we treat THEM better?
Derpy was never an important part of the show, nor should she have ever been.
She was formerly a small amusing part of the show which eventually transformed into an irritating distraction that the fandom seemed to prefer obsessing over rather than enjoy what really mattered.
Seriously stop acting like trying to stir up internet drama over a cartoon character was some form of commendable fight against tyranny. It is just the whiny demandypants behavior of a stupid child.
Ok OP, I will reply to you one last time. The only chance to do this was when Derpy was first removed. At that time, they were still pondering whether or not to bring back Derpy, and there were thousands of people who supported Derpy. It didn’t work. So that was the end of it.
Under the the impression she was given, she is not the sharpest knife on the shelf. Doesn’t lower her appeal. I could even picture her as a “think outside the box” type, spacey but not really stupid. Just going by the impression given.
Nobody is forcing anybody to stay in this discussion. You don’t have to announce your departure. But by all means, feel free to storm off in a huff. It’s a free country Internet.
Stands on Soapbox, prepares a long rant, looks at crowd and hears the rage
“Sigh”
We have iconic ‘idiots’ or ‘simple-minded’ folks like Ed (Ed, Edd and Eddy), Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin, spongebob and Patrick, Cosmo and such others but one slow-witted female pony can cause such a fuss? This is what is defined as a double standard.
In all, I like Derpy. Not everypony is perfect but yet, Derpy has her place in the community, she should not be kicked because of being different.
@Grieffon
Everything that has ever been accomplished, ever, started as a dream. If less than a dozen people can cause a change, surely hundreds of people can as well.
@Prof.NightJack
Like I said to Krek, there’s nothing that doesn’t have “conflicting opinions” in regards to it. But a 95+% approval rating is pretty damn good in my book.
@Krek
If that’s your definition of a “no win situation”, there’s nothing that isn’t one.
The choice to piss off 10 people or to piss off 200 people seems obvious to me, especially when one side is obviously full of shit (HINT: the one losing 20 to 1). That’s just going by the emails to Amy Keating Rogers. The petitions paint an even larger margin.
@Background Pony
>200 pro-Derpy people for every one anti-Derpy person is NOT “controversial”.
Numbers have nothing to do with it something is controversial or not, it’s about conflicting opinions.
