I can’t blame you for feeling that way. But I think it would be rather interesting if it happened. Not to mention, I don’t think we’ve ever had a villain like that in the series yet.
 
Ideally I would have done an episode like this a little bit before To Where and Back Again. One could argue that it’s probably a bit too late to pull off an episode like that. But at the same time, Chrysalis is pretty vulnerable right now since she probably hasn’t fed in ages (which in turn has made her weaker compared to being properly fed) and she doesn’t have the help from a hive anymore so she currently has no one helping her. I’m not going to pretend what she did wasn’t awful, because it was. But I can picture in her current state right now, she might look to help from someone if she needed it, even if it was from someone she hated.

Chrysalis is too much of a bitch for me to think that right now. I enjoy her as a full antagonist more than the idea of her helping but not friends, but we’ll see.

That’s what I think too. We have more than enough characters that are swayed over to the side of The Mane 6. I’d love for a lesson like that to happen with Tirek or Chrysalis.
 
Though I’m also fond of the idea of Chrysalis possibly being more of a “neutral” loner character that could be a help when a bigger threat arrives but doesn’t decide to be friends and nice to the Mane 6 or Starlight.

They should almost have it as a plot point where they try to redeem him but can’t. He and Chrysalis would make a good message of “you can’t always turn an enemy into a friend, and sometimes you need to rely on the strength of friends you already have” or something like that.

Same here, at least in terms of a “good guy” kind of character. I’m perfectly fine with the idea of her being a jerk antagonist that kind of acts as Rainbow Dash’s foil (kind of like what Flim and Flam are to Applejack and the Apple family).

I wouldn’t go that far. Lightning Dust may not be on good terms with Rainbow Dash but I can’t picture her wanting to murder her (or anyone) out of revenge. She just did the same thing like last time: let her selfishness, her recklessness, and her love of being an adrenaline junkie daredevil nearly get others hurt.

Scootaloo was going to fly!

You know how that I think of it one alternate ending that would have made this scene so awesome and heart warming is that Scoot actually falls off the rocket as it goes into the air, Lightning Dust looks shock and then realises that she mess up big time and both her and Dash fly and try to catch her but little to their surprise Scootaloo is actually flying! Scoot is so happy that she is crying and actually hugs and thanks Lightning Dust for helping her to fly and Lightning Dust apologises to both Scoot and Dash and hopes that they both forgive her but little to her surprise they both do and the three of them become best sisters!
