Massive plot holes? It’s obviously assumed that Sephiroth killed Aerith and that’s it.
But let’s say that he actually didn’t kill her and she was unconscious and/or paralyzed. Then Cloud, who thought she is dead, put her into the water and she drowned.
Where is any plot hole there?

Wow, this game has massive plot holes

I bought the PC version a few months ago. It was boring and shitty. You know how FF XIII’s combat system was terrible to the point that just by closing your eyes and tapping one button makes you win? Yeah well it’s not all that different from FF VII’s.

I wish i would been able to play this game when this shitty graphic was bearable. Nowaday i’ m grown up too and almost can’ t stand JRPGs.

I’ve heard of that theory before, and while I have no medical knowledge to corroborate that it does seem plausible.

Aerith could not have died. She was stabbed in a spot that would not kill her. She could have treated her wound.
 
Secondly, the lack of blood is a dead give away. Don’t give me the argument that there is no blood because it’s a final fantasy game. There is, go play it. I can’t show you, but I assure you it’s there.
 
Now, here’s the twist. She was unconscious then cloud dropped her into the the water. She sank, if there was gas in her body she would floated. She could not float back to the surface and drowned in the water.
 
I end this with this statement, cloud killed aerith.

When someone gets turned into stone, it doesn’t sadden me because it’s almost a foregone conclusion that they’ll be turned back to normal. Unless they get shattered while they’re stone….

Aeris dying didn’t make me cry, it just pissed me off. (Especially because I had just managed to get her final limit break. I was a grinder.)
 
Palom and Porom? Shocked, horrified tears.

I really didn’t feel anything when Aeris died. Then again I found FF7’s story to be pretty slow and boring.

You wanna know what I thought was actually sadder than Aerith’s death?
 
The petrification of Blank from Final Fantasy IX.
 
I dunno why that’s just so much sadder to me.

Probably the only time a game has ever made me cry. Too bad my nostalgia goggles wore off and I saw how horrible the game truly was later on.
 
The death is still sad though

I’m sure if I had played it when it first came out I would have bawled my little kid eyes out, but now it’s been spoiled so much it probably wouldn’t faze me all that much.
