I think her original monologue at the wedding was genius. She never expected to be found out and didn’t want to fight Celestia because she did not know at the time she could beat her.
 
She kept kept talking about how pointless fighting was and how her army would be there any second. Another 60 or so seconds and she would have monologued her way out of the fight.
 
She didn’t make it but kicked ass anyway.
