At best, like The Loud House and (despite not being animated in ToonBoom) the new DuckTales. At worse, like most of last year’s Summertime Shorts (except the music videos, Canterlot Movie Club, Pet Project and Subs Rock. They had good animation!).

Will the show be done in Flash still or Toon Boom? If it’s the latter, I hope the animation will be as similar to the Flash animation we have for G4.

I know it’s not going to be a total G4 look alike, but when the time does come that G5 rolls out I do hope they keep the large anime eyes, keep them as simple as ever facially and bodily, and for the love of Celestia and Twilight please not too much makeup. I like my mares all natural. <3
 
Heck the only think I don’t like about EQG (aside from Flash Sentry and Timber touching my waifu. grrr. :P) is the fact that some of them have makeup. If it weren’t for those two things EQG would be perfect.

Honestly, I think Row 4’s style is the most likely to be chosen (my opinion changes almost every week, unfortunately). While there are some things I don’t like (the ears, how the muzzles look in some angles and Applejack and Fluttershy’s faces), there’s always the possibility of Erika Worthylake (the artist) changing it a bit. And the style seems to fit a lot of things Meghan and the production team want!

Not entirely. What was leaked was just concept art that could change in the future. In fact there was multiple different designs for the Mane 6 (about three or four each) that was leaked, so even though only one “set” of designs were popular in fanart, there was still others in the leak that unfortunately didn’t get as much attention in the fandom.
 
Also to add what I was saying, in the leaked discussions among the staff, they were talking about changing the designs. Some of the designs were a bit too detailed which doesn’t adapt well for animation (simpler designs tend to be better for that). And there was some bits that Megan McCarthy and the other staff didn’t care for (e.g. Pinkie Pie being a Pegasus, some designs that were too horselike, etc.) They mentioned wanting designs rather similar to G4 in spirit: cute, big eyes, chubbier legs, not too human, not too horsey, and simple and cartoony designs that are easy on the animators.
 
So what we saw in the leaks is likely not going to be in the final version. I don’t know if they finished the design process yet since those leaks were way back in December of last year but they might have.

I barely looked at the leaks, just know a bit of pieces here and there. I stopped following the latest information about it because i don’t want to be spoiled.Last thing I know is they are still working on what they will look like. Have they finished deliberating?

The same happened when G4 was still new. G3 toys were still on the market alongside G4 ones. Likewise, there was still some G3 specials made around G4 if I’m not mistaken.
 
Transformers has done the same as well. When Transformers Prime came out, there were still some Transformers Animated toys in the market. Also both series have had the Live Action movies and The Rescue Bots overlapping as well so those toylines appeared then too.

Apparently there’s not gonna be a transition, if the leaks are correct (and they very probably are). The first thing after next year’s holiday special will be Gen 5’s opening movie in Summer 2020 (or later)! That means you’re probably going to see G4 and G5 toys in the stores during the first half of 2020.

I hope so. :) I just hope that even if this is the last season, that Hasbro gives us one hell of a transition.

Hope Hasbro debunks the “9th is the last season” shindig from the leak so they can be 10 years of pone with 10th being the final season.

I’m so happy we have a whole 9th season. Please be a 10th. Otherwise, man I wonder how Hasbro will transition. XD

If I’m not mistaken the holiday special came out before The Empire Strikes back.
 
Mark Hamill got into a pretty bad car accident at the time (which was why he was wearing some pretty weird/badly done makeup in the special). They kind of worked around that in the movie by having him get attacked by that yeti looking creature. So they worked his real world injury onto the film.
