Taking a good look, seems horns in the mlp canon are hollow, now we can theorize that the grooves in the horns are where the magic energy pours out from. I can only theorize there’s a special part of the pony brain that generates the magic, kinda like Captain Marvel when she got superpowers.
I’d imagine her magic output is rather unstable.
Hence why she also relies on physical moves.
