Ah; well, keep in mind that most of the apocalyptic villains have been flamboyant, melodramatic, or charismatic; of the two exceptions, Suri is clearly more popular than Sombra, and possibly more popular than Tirek. It’s a shame she’s not more utilized by the fandom, but I can hardly blame people for gravitating towards more entertaining, less realistic antagonists.

I imagine most of that is the comic being in greyscale and both mares wearing coverings of some sort over their manes; that takes away a lot by which we differentiate various characters.

Implying she hasn’t pulled similar stunts in the past; after all, when Rarity confronts her about her theft, she replies “It takes some small-town fillies a while to learn it’s everypony for herself in the big city, m’kay?” She’s obviously not as bad as villains like Tirek, Sombra, Chrysalis, or even the world famous Flim Flam brothers; however, she shows no signs of repenting of her wrongs and trying to improve herself, unlike other villains such as Nightmare Moon/Luna, Discord, Sunset Shimmer, and Starlight Glimmer. As I mentioned before, I’d love to see her return once or twice more as an antagonist for Rarity.
 
And while I’m here, something I’ve wondered about since her debut: Does anyone know who or what Suri Polomare’s name could be referring to?

Those exact reasons are why the few of us who like her do. Well, that or we disagree about her being unpleasant.  
Though what’s weird is people take less issue with the actually murderous villains than with this one who unsuccessfully cheated at a fashion competition this one time.

Probably because she was thoroughly unpleasant. She was annoying in her personality, and a byay throughout the episode. As a result, the focus was pushed onto Coco’s character, as was the subsequent surge in attention.
 
For a character who was all about staying on top of the fashion and clothing world, it’s quite fitting that her final fate is to simply be forgotten; last season’s trash. The final scenes of the episode didn’t even show her; they addressed her with Coco’s dialogue, but that’s it.
 
It’s hard to defend a character people hardly even remember, it’s harder to get them not to see her in such a negative way, in hindsight.

I always wondered why there was so little redemption fan media for Suri.

Oh please, Coco… You were nothing even WITH your number-one assistant!
