Sometimes horses and ponies really do wear socks in the winter. It’s not unheard of by any means.

Well, I imagine the socks would have to have reinforced bottoms or soles to keep the hooves from wearing them down quickly, but other than that I see no functional reason why a horse can’t wear socks. Jam a sock in it, Twilight!
