This would be medical grade. For a truly sore horse.
 
 
These are slipper socks. Simpler and for general use.
 
There are also longer ones that provide either insect protection, warmth, or even arthritic support for their various times/seasons.

There are “socks” too. Including ones with special padding for the hooves to cushion the blow of a horse/pony instinctively pounding it’s hoof on the ground from fly bites and the like.
 
It really depends on the need of the horse and the application of the garment. But yeah, most of those would quality as “leg warmers”.
