Well Spike (dog) don’t transform into a dragon because he goes to a rift between dimensions, the actual portal (the statue) is what causes the transformation
I’m not so sure about that. Sunset should definitely be a pony here given that she was originally one, but until Equestria Girls does it, you can’t say for sure either way what would happen.
It’d be funny if in a future EG movie/special everyone expected the mirror to work both ways, but for the humans to still end up staying human once they crossed over. Spike didn’t seem to turn into a dragon during his brief portal stint in Equestria Games, remember.
