Description
Another attempt at a random crossover.
The idea was to draw Daring Do stood on the deck of the “Solaris”, the sailing ship from the “Mysterious Cities of Gold” series.
Here’s a shot of the ship in question from the series
That ship’s harder to draw than it looks!

I understand. I also like how you have handled the metal parts too. It looks reflective.
Speaking about the show. Yes, it is a pity.
The ship isn’t that complex, but it’s a weird shape to draw, which means any slip ups stand out.
Glad you’re liking the series. I don’t think there’s anything else quite like it.
(Which is a pity really).
Also thanks for recommending the show. I’m lovin’ it.
Season 1
Season 2
(Those eagle eyed enough to notice will see Esteban and Zia are both missing the sun part of their medallions in the season 2 intro. You’d have to watch the whole of season 1 to find out why).
It’s very dated now of course, but the story is great, the characters are well thought out (aside from the two assistant sailors Pedro (looks like a monkey), and Sancho (chubby guy that stammers a lot), these two are really just comic relief most of the time).
Season 2 of the Cities of Gold was released around 30 years after season 1, so next time someone complains about the hiatus for ponies…..
Different VA crew in the second season, and the style’s somewhat different. Still keeps the great story and characters, but the change of voices is quite jarring.
