I would have liked to see Shining being forced to run out and buy pickles and ice cream by a hormonally unbalanced Cadance. Y’know, pregnancy humor.
He does makes a good point.
What are they gonna show? Cadence actually give birth? Have you seen the way horses give birth? It’s quite unpleasant to look at.
I guess Hasbro or DHX media doesn’t like showing pregnant ponies on the show.

Actually it’s only been canonically about two years since they were born. It’s not so weird to have toddlers still in diapers.
On that note it’s been more than three years since Twilight Sparkle first came to Ponyville

This is just me speculating, but I think that was supposed to be a joke about how sometimes characters in cartoons go unchanged even after many years of the cartoon being on the air. For example, even though the cake twins were born in early 2012, they still in 2016 look the same and are still in diapers.

I can’t really tell here, but Twi says she’s gotten big since they last saw her. Has she, though? She looks about the same to me.
