I never registered, but I saw enough interaction with the staff and some users and picked up that some of the mods were… let’s say biased in one way or another.
I’m familiar with those commercials (and how hilariously obvious whoever was behind them was totally a furry and got those on TV) and yeah, they’re totally appropriate for the site. And unless they’ve removed them, there’s at least a page or two of images from the print ads.
Aye heya. Yeah I’ve been slapped hard numerous times on e621 because of those mods and how the rules have frequently twisted by said mod just to delete an upload of mine, the most popular being “irrelevant to site”.
I uploaded a 9 minute long video of the Orangina commercials. You know, the ones with the fairly attractive anthro characters, many scantly clad?
“Irrelevant to site” despite some of the single commercials being there is far worse flash format instead of webm.
Yeah, contrasting against e621’s “Tag only what you see and nothing more”, which can end up with a series of futa pictures having one labeled as regular just because a character turned.
BTW, I’ve lurked on e621 for years, and recognized you here the first time I saw you post.

It’s mainly that ratings for images and tags on Derpi are permitted to include aspects in backstory for the images.
The differences in tagging guidelines can really throw you between some sites. Paheal R34 has extremely sparse tagging, to the extreme where often only the franchise, character, species and orientation are allowed. Meanwhile e621 often goes overboard, tagging every single thing in an image to the extreme. Stuff like “Long hair”, “wavey hair”, “blond hair”, “fancy hairdo” and more just for a character’s hair alone.
I think Derpibooru has a nice compromise between the two extremes. The tagging remains helpful but doesn’t become ridiculous.
