She had a reasonable point though in why she doesn’t want to sell the cider, apparently they don’t use preservatives in their cider so it begins to spoil almost as soon as its made, meaning its not fit to sell outside of the location in which its produced at.

Granny seemed a bit—less wrinkly in the simpler days

The pony who constantly criticizes everyone, bosses them around, and shuts down their ideas? The pony who is always grouchy and insensitive, if she isn’t going on a senile tirade about “the old days” which usually involves talking herself up as a hero or a great inventor? The pony whose insistence on tradition means too little cider every year and whose “wisdom” caused her to nearly lose the farm and, later, to nearly kill herself? The pony who never bends to a suggestion from somepony else, and never admits her own fault in anything? The pony who gets a pass on all of her bad attitude and bad decisions because she’s a “respected elder”?
 
The pony who darn well should have allowed Applejack to sell the cider to Filthy Rich and avoided the entire episode’s problem while still providing a good lesson?

because she is one of top 5 greatest characters on the show
