I remember quite a few people died. I also seem to recall that the captain just kept digging himself deeper and deeper with every excuse he offered.

Is that the same cruise liner where the captain and crew abandoned ship without even telling the passengers what was going on?

It’s kind of amazing. There’s two legendary things that previous generations may have thought of as nothing more than myth and legend - but turn out to be REAL.
Mostly, though, they’re proven by radar imaging from satellites, and oil rig data recordings of waves hitting their support beams. Some of those are bigger than any of what’s caught on tape.
