Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to twig this, but every Pie sister is one of the Dere trope from Japanese anime. Probably cause it’s been a while since I’ve actively watched anime, Undyne would be pissed.
Limestone - The Tsundere
Maud - The Kuudere (my favourite one)
Marble - The Dandere
& Pinkie - The Yandere (when in Pinkamena mode)
Its even canon to the show when you think about it. Nice work writers.
 
Eh, in the show Pinkamena isn’t a Yandere, she’s just hallucinatory. She mostly just retreats into her own delusions. Other than that, though, it’s largely spot-on - though Limestone seems to treat everypony harshly and not just her love interest like stereotypical Tsundere do. And Maud feels emotions perfectly fine, she’s just incapable of showing them. And I got nothing on Marble but I think the “dere” analogy is falling apart… guess I take it back, it’s not spot-on.

I am wondering about Limestone’s cutie mark. Is it a pun on lime, the fruit, vs. limestone, the mineral? Does she cook lime pies? (I like Key Lime pie) Does it refer to the caustic chemical “quicklime,” which connects to her caustic and mordant demeanor?
