I think our fears of Twilight letting her royal status go to her head are long over. She’s clearly the same wonderfully adorkable, awkward mare she’s always been. Maybe just a little more self-confident in her abilities.

I’m so glad they brought this back.
 
Considering that it’s been absent since season 3, I was afraid Twilight being an alicorn princess meant she was “too regal” to greet Cadance like that anymore.

I wonder how long it takes to properly grow into Tia-dom. Cady is already taller than the average mare and flashbacks show she’s not super-old (she was visibly smaller when Twi was a kid.) Maybe it doesn’t take centuries. I don’t think we’ll ever have Twilight walking around in every episode ever as a goddess with a galaxy mane, but it’d be neat if she were a little taller every season, to have an inch or two on the others by the end.
 
Of course, it probably wasn’t intentional. Maybe in this shot they were just a little closer to the same height than usual, wouldn’t be the first time someone gained or lost an inch because of an animation… thing.
 
As for any normal growing left… it seems pretty clear that none of the Mane Six are less than adult. I don’t know too many kids who live alone and run businesses and such.

Wouldn’t that be great if the animators subtley have been increasing her size just a smidge here and there to account for the alicorn power flowing through her (and maybe a little bit of normal growing up left)? I doubt they’re being that subtle, though.

That’d be more true if Zecora was part of an AlwaysChaoticEvil race (not that the writers would ever be crazy enough to do that, but still) where people had actual reasons to be afraid and distrustful of her as opposed to a former member of an already established minion army that nearly conquered a good kingdom under an evil Queen.

I love how nervous Cadence looks at first and how she’s relieved mid way through the dance. I also love how Twilight jumps into the middle of it.
