This is also Canon. Season 2, Episode 6. Twilight having Rarity’s mane-style and Spike looking at her with heart-filled eyes, even while the genuine article is standing right next to him.

There may be several interpretations of that, but it’s all the reason i need to support this ship. ^.

Kind of like Rarity’s behaviour around Spike and Ember in Gauntlet of Fire, and how one can interpret it as Rarity being protective to Spike, and trying to keep him safe from a dragon they didn’t know too well at the time.

Your “relationship scale” is just as much headcanon as anything else said in the comments. We have no show canon for their relationship besides #1 assistant the rest is just inferring things ergo headcanon.

You do understand that you can actually watch the show and see what I’m talking about, right? In some episodes she acts more like a mother. See: making sure he goes to bed when he should, and that he’s covered. At other times she acts more like a sister.

It’s not head-canoning things at all. It is directly observable behavior in the show. Hence, her actions and reactions to him vary up and down on that scale depending on the episode. And that is the key point here, how she acts. We’ve got plenty of example of both ends.

You don’t sound like a total creep to me, I see nothing wrong with Twilight and Spike hooking up. They both take good care of each other, so it makes a lot of sence for them to have those feelings and want a little more from each other.

Twilight’s relationship scale towards Spike is motherly at one end, and older sister at the other. And varies back and forth between the two ends. It doesn’t “make sense” for a romantic relationship at all in canon.

What people do in their works is fine. But please don’t confuse canon with headcanon.

Realize, what everyone is talking about in these comments is not the tv show. It is this series and the characters, their traits and qualities, all based off this comic series. Not the show.

Well, nothing in their comment seemed to specify one way or the other, and I’ve run into plenty of people who hold the opinion that the show canon would support such things. So if that wasn’t what they meant, then I apologize.

Well, if Twilight thinks of Spike as a little brother, or kind of like a son, then it seemed like she was dangerously close to considering incest.

Or! She was enjoying Spike’s complements and I was looking way too hard into this, as I am known to do sometimes D:

In my case I’d say something like.

“Hey Spike bro, you’re touching my ass. Keep it up and we’re gonna have to get a room.”

Which is totally a normal warning to give someone :D

Let’s be fair here. The comic before this had Twi running to a rainy environment so she could cry without anyone knowing (were locks too expensive?), so her getting a complements from her somewhat son and feeling (a bit too) happy about it isn’t out of the question.
