Yes, and it annoys me to no end how many people are unaware that landing full body into any body of water at great speed has the same results as landing on concrete.
Actually diving reduces the amount of force, but not enough to stop it from breaking your neck.
Maybe I should try reading through this whole comic sometime. It seems like people really like it, and it looks fairly interesting judging from this image alone.
