Well let’s not forget, Megan is, what, maybe twelve at the oldest? And Rainbow Dash here is in high school, possibly as a senior, placing her around sixteen, seventeen. I’d say Megan is probably a lot shorter than Rainbow Dash as a result.

It’s been a pretty natural progression. The number of external resources and clips has been increasing fairly steadily for each successive movie.  
This is just the first time they’ve decided to do a blooper reel.

Judging by Megan’s inebriated expression and the ponies’ red eyes; I’m guessing rampant marjuana abuse over time caused stunted growth in the species until they reached their G4 size.

It’s from “bloopers” (like in the end of A Bugs Life) so it’s even less canon than the canon/not canon/whatever the writers choose about the dubious canonicity of EQG for damage control
Also it’s dreadfully unfunny in an insincere “Oh we’re so meta.Third wall annihilated AMIRITE Internet” way.
