This. The problem with Kylo Ren is that he’s MEANT to be unstable and a big bad wannabe as a subversion and deconstruction of the trope. He wants to be Vader, but he can’t.
 
Of course, I am utilizing an in-lore explanation, but I agree with the decision of the writers to make Ren like this regardless.

Actually, all jokes aside, I rather like what they’re doing with Kylo Ren. He’s an emo kid for sure, but unlike Anakin who was just a whiny pussy, Kylo is legitimately unhinged and unstable. It’s like the difference between Sasuke Uchiha and Kid Buu.
