I was talking of what seemed to be the consensus at the time and how if a “dragon lord ember” tag was going to end up not being a thing then one for Spike would not make sense as he only had it for less than a minute.

Dragons being what they are, one might theorize that the crystal is a drop of the primordial dragon’s blood in its natural form (i.e. crystalline, but not necessarily crystalized).
well obviously it’s not permanent. Whatever it is, it is a power reserved for only the current wielder of the staff. A power that no doubt gives the wielder some magical authority over other dragons.
in fact, the whole “itchy glowing means the dragonlord is calling” thing is almost certainly a power of the staff.
hmm… I’m getting more and more on board with the idea that the bloodstone is literally a crystallized drop of dragonblood, probably from the very first dragon, which is what gives it power over all dragons like that.
That could also just be some sort of magical scanning sequence.
Regardless, it seems unlikely that it’s permanent. That remains to (potentially) be seen.
seeing as Ember also got some read swirlies when Spike passed it off to her, I’d say it most certainly does instill some kind of power to its wielder.
is just a symbol of power that maybe also shoot fires. It surely not affect the user in any permanent way.
Not really, it means nothing since he gave the scepter to Ember and the energy channeled to her so having any effect on him after no longer possessing it is just weird.
It seems to be used a bit now. I think it works for images where he is holding/using the bloodstone scepter.
With how it seem the consensus is that “dragon lord ember” is now not the tag to use, just “princess ember”, that makes “dragon lord spike” a tag that is unneeded.
Indeed. Adding to it is that Earthdragons have perks other dragons normally don’t. Mainly, increased physical strength and scale hardness due to a lifestyle focused on digging.
They also are near impervious to lava, something we’ve seen Spike is. (even Ember pointed out that Spike “risked” too much when he saved Rarity, implying that she would have been injured had the lava hit her).
They wouldn’t have had much choice. More likely they were still en-route when the contest ended.
The other dragons that can’t fly couldn’t be arsed walking all the way to the summons, since they don’t have a unicorn to teleport them.
Agreed and we have seen in the 2 times he’s been aged up he doesn’t have wings and honestly I don’t get why he needs them, he’s gonna be a mountain of a dragon that can actually scale mountains and breathe enough fire to burn an entire village in one go, at that size wings aren’t even needed as he could cross equestria in a day due to his massive stride and wings would just look weird on him.
Also with Larson gone so are the wing additions.

This is the only one with him being heroic. His others moments were forced by writers and given to him without having earning the title. Twilight should have been a hero of Crystal Empire. Only now he used actual resolve and own charisma to win over an ally who helped him succeed. He didn’t need any power up or even spit fire for real heroism.
@Daneasaur
He’s really come a long way
That he did.
You know, Spike just saved Equestria from a potential war, and by extension, saved The Crystal Empire a 3rd time.
