M O R T I S
I haven’t seen it yet, but alot of PPG fans seem to dislike it unfortunately.
Y’know, alot of ’80s & ’90s American cartoons were animated in Japan. Including many shows by DiC (Inspector Gadget, Heathcliff, Real Ghostbusters) the first season of TMNT, many “Disney Afternoon” shows, Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, and others. Sometimes you can even tell, by the occasional anime-ish facial expressions, or sometimes an anime visual gag or sound effect will be featured. (Like the “cross popping vein” trope.)
Might be why anime has become more popular nowadays.
Makes sense and I agree, compared to ones like the PPG reboot.
Even 90’s Sailor Moon has smoother animation than the first two seasons of the reboot (though season 3 is now the same quality as the original anime, minus some spots!). (Those pics I did below, it looks worse in motion XD)
I don’t know, I’ve seen some ’80s shows with pretty good animation. Heck, I feel Inspector Gadget has better background art, and smoother animation then even some modern shows.
I’m guessing if it was slowed down, it would be easier to tell. Me, I just looked carefully as I caught used the “prt sc” button on my keyboard
I’ve seen worse animation than this (IMO the animation of G1 MLP isn’t that bad, decent, but nothing spectacular, especially compared to Disney), look at these (and these are by Toei, who did both G1 MLP and Saint Seiya):
It’s hard to tell due to crappy, floaty ’80s animation.
It did…I’m catching screenshots and it looks like it hit Buttons in her back legs while it hit Fizzy in her forelegs…
