Several reasons!  
-Support is important! Sunset probably doesn’t want her girls floppin’ all over the place whenever she turns around or breaks into a brisk walk.  
-Bras are cute and sexy.  
-Sometimes hinting at nudity is more enticing than actually shoving a nipple in someone’s face  
-This picture was drawn for a good friend of mine who wanted to use it as the cover to a SciSet fic, and FimFic has a policy against explicit cover images, so to be on the safe side we decided to cover Sunset up just a bit. Same reason she’s still wearing her tights.
 
But most importantly:
 
-Canterlot High School dress code. Vice Principal Luna doesn’t play around when it comes to the rules!

Yeah, I actually feel the same way- they weren’t part of my original post. Someone came along and tagged them after the fact, which’d probably happen again even if I DID take ‘em out ^^;.
 
But thanks! Lookin’ forward to drawing more of these two- separately and together- in 2017!

You should really take out the tags for characters other than Twilight and Sunset. I understand that they are included in the group picture in the background, but the inclusion of these tags is misleading and causes the image to pop up in unrelated searches.
 
While I’m here, I’d like to make it known that I still love the picture regardless of these gripes.

I know I’m quoting and answering an old post here, but the reason why Sunlight is not used as a name tag for Sunset Shimmer/Twilight Sparkle pairing pics, is because Sunlight is also a word.
 
Search the Sunlight tag and you’ll see most (like, 99%) of them are pictures where the light of the sun is shining down on a scene.
 
SunsetSparkle, on the other hand, has none of that ambiguity about it. :)
