The Ratchet and Clank series is heading onwards towards an 11th game with only 1 being considered “non-canon” (Size Matters for the PSP sucked). So… it’s a little longer than a trilogy. And for that matter, the Jak and Daxter series actually had 4 games with a racing game that is part of that universe’s canon, while Sly also has 4 with “Thieves in Time”. Sly is the closest one to a ‘trilogy’ in the sense that the game’s story technically ended at “Honor Among Thieves” until “Thieves in Time” was released and decided to add to it.
 
No less epic, though; each series have been some of the highest-rated games for the Playstation console and even the lowest of all of them scored above 85% positive.

I’d recommend that. I think the first three were less “silly” than the rest, but they are still funny and they hold up well today, I think.

Insomniac knows how to make wacky awesome stuff.

Apart from the fact that I tend to stick with two or three weapons I know I will like Ratchet and Clank, I just have yet to play any of them, I might pickup the collection so I can play the first three.

Ratchet and Clank is good if you like using an insane diversity of weapons and gadgets, quirky humor, big levels to explore, and some well done drama.

Well they’re all trilogies. Epic ones at that.

To be fair, I only have played Jak 2 and the first Sly, have not played any Ratchet games yet.
