Re: laws: I’m a big supporter of a society where the only people that exist are those that can recognize the difference between fictional artwork and real life and are fully capable of keeping the two separate. Nobody gets hurt in art.

Also no. Drawn images of minors are “nope” where we operate, and we risk quite a bit by adding a “human” to that in order to host foalcon. As for humanized or near-human stuff that you think (wrongly) isn’t explicit enough to delete, there’s this thing called “fuck risking prison over this”.
 
Just so you get an idea of how strict these laws (not rules, but “go to prison” laws) are, a drawing of two adults fucking that has the couple’s underage child opening the door and surprising them is considered CP.

Even if you’d be willing to keep your thoughts censored on the subject, it doesn’t mean that you should.
 
The most important reason why certain rules are in place for many of the larger art websites isn’t because of the laws surrounding what kind of races, religious symbols, or other offensive content are allowed in the servers’ localities. It’s due to how vocal portions of the public will react to posting of homosexuality or other illegal content.
 
In the case of FIMFiction and Derpibooru, there are a rather large number of individuals that would be willing take legal action against those sites if they posted anything that defied their religious values. If the servers were based in Spain, you’d bet that one of the majorly enforced rules would be to ban anyone that exhibited anti-Christian values.
 
Despite that fact, it still wouldn’t be right to enforce such rules. I’m not calling for the rules to change, but it definitely doesn’t mean that people can lie and say that it’s right for certain rules to exist.

I just find it annoying that someone can upload actual pictures of pony merchandise with their cum on them, and pictures of a pony with a swastika cutie mark, but a drawn picture of a naked human child (regardless of whether or not they’re having sex) is a no-no.

Now, this version, I like. Pure, unfiltered nudity. No gimmicks, no bullshit.

As far as Derpibooru is concerned, the content restrictions are a matter of personal preference for the site owners.
 
The argument regarding legalities appears to be mostly just a rationalization, since the site restrictions are clearly more stringent than legally necessary. Regardless, it’s how the site is run. If people want it to keep running this way, then that’s their decision to keep coming here.
