Flash Sentry’s pony form is not really comic relief, but his human form can be considered comic relief.

Even as a fan, I’m pretty sure that only started as speculation due to what Flash was wearing in his reveal (really, an extra cloth and saddle), which Gameloft took and made “official” even after the movie was released and said he was new.
