It’s a jpg with the file extension of .PNG
 
If you doubt it or don’t know how you can open it in notepad and it says JFIF for jpg in the first row and PNG for well, PNG.
 
btw I can’t get to IRC so could you please pass on the file type check as a feature request. There are a LOT of files which says .PNG but really are jpeg.
 
Web browsers usually don’t care and work ether way.
