Don’t see the first one, but like I said, that behavior has no excuse. It has repeatedly been a problem and many people are getting sick of it. Still, hilariously dramatic comments like on that dA page are the proper way to respond to him.
And there’s always going to be people who draw things regardless. The same person got mad that this same artist made Spike into a visual gag on another comic cover, so I have no idea what they were expecting this time.
Yeah, I don’t know why I would think comments like “Good thing Spike wasn’t there. He would’ve had a miserable fucking time with you assholes.” from MyLittleOreo would qualify as abuse. Or BoneSatellite’s witty reply on the deviantArt page for >>1045694. Or Swashbucklist’s tweet in >>1031152.
Very loose interpretation of “abuse” there, Anon. I’m not defending them being shitheads but I think you’re being a little hyperbolic.
Let ’em. The more the Spike Justice Warriors abuse artists over not drawing Spike, the less incentive the artists have to bother drawing him, the faster the SJWs will realize they no longer have a reason to hang around the fandom. Win-win.

He just wasn’t in the artist’s plans for the piece. The gag wouldn’t work I guess, even in the background.
That happens all the time. What’s upsetting here is the presence of all the central characters’ siblings. This cover is basically a shutdown to all the blindly optimistic folks who say Spike isn’t in many M6 group shots because he’s less a friend to the mane six than he is family to Twilight. So much for that.
