So yeah, my fallout 4 favourite companion, ponified for your amusement
Some headcannon type things:
I’m gonna say that Gen 2 synths have hooves that can unfurl into fingers, but form fists when in a hoof shape for running and walking ect. The fingers are useful for working unicorn devices, without having to recreate unicorn magic
His skeletal hoof/hand his not as stable to stand on as his undamaged one. Because of this, when ever he is standing still he’ll probably be fiddling or smoking to avoid leaning on his bad hoof. Think idle animation
All sythns have the Insitute branding in the place of a cutie mark, I’d like to imagine that Ellie or the Soul Survivor painted the Valentine Detective Agency logo onto his flank in an attempt to cover the branding
Unrelated to Valentine but, I’d like to think that Gen 3 sythns that escape are ones that earn their own cutie mark

“I spent the first TEN YEARS trying to keep the floors waxed! But nothing clears nuclear fallout! NOTHING”
And now I’m laughing at the thought of Spike freaking out over being unable to keep what was left of Twilight’s castle clean for over two centuries.
“And the car! The car! HOW DO YOU POLISH RUST?!?”
Something like that.
for me, it would be Twilight as Piper, Applejack as nick, Fleur as Curie, Spike as Codsworth, Shining as Dense, Diamond as Macready, Breaburn as Preston, Derpy as deacon, Sombra as X6-88, Wionna as Dogmeat, Rainbow as Cait, Bulk as Strong, and Vinyl as Hancock.
@Brony_Conundrum
so, kinda like normal Ghouls and Feral Ghouls then?
Rainbow Dash : Mccready
Rarity : Piper
Twilight Sparkle : Curie
Sunset shimmer : Cait
Um…I can’t casting easily Dense, X6-88, Deacon.
seriously? If I choose one faction, then other two(except Minuteman) MUST ANNIHILATION? What kind of sh`` is this? I mean how could they worse than New Vegas? Damn you, Bethesda :(
That’s one possibility.
The other five could be synths.
Probably an original character, since the rest of the canon cast (aside from possibly the Princesses) would be long gone.
So who would Preston and Sturges be, then?
AJ would probably not side with the Insitute (or its pony equivalent), despite Apple Bloom presumably becoming Mother. She’d probably join the Minuteponies.
Probably.
If not AJ’s husband, then would it be poor Big Mac that gets shot by Kellogg (or or whoever takes up his role)?
I could definitely see Applejack trying to rescue Apple Bloom.
I was going to join the Brotherhood at first, but Paladin Danse turned me off it almost straight away with his macho military man crap. Then when we were heading into ArcJet Systems, he made that snide comment about keeping behind him because he “didn’t want to be hit by stray fire.”
I was like, “Um, are we just going to ignore how I helped you out against all those ghouls at the police station in Cambridge? We are? Well, screw you too, you uppity bastard. I’m tagging along with you for the loot, but there’s no way I’m joining the Brotherhood if it means working with you.”
Same, but I feel that, if I had to choose, I would choose the history-obsessed Brotherhood over the history-ignoring Institute. That’s why I said disagree with some of what they do. They are opposite extremes, and I like that. It’s not good vs. evil, but two different sides.
Honestly, both the Institute and the Brotherhood seemed kookoo for Coco Pops in their own ways. It’s why I decided to join the Minutemen – they seem to be the only sane people in the Commonwealth!
That, the Institute not calming people down after “Broken Mask,” and their ideals being being more fictional than The Lord of The Rings series, is why I would rather side with the Brotherhood, despite disagreeing with them on some of their actions. I do like how the Institute and Brotherhood are opposites, with the first wanting to eliminate the past, while the second wants to preserve it.
you shouldn’t have spoilered the “and”
Looking at Nick, I’m starting to wonder if the Railroad had a point about synths being the victims in the Institute’s shenanigans. At first, I thought they were just a bunch of naive fools for believing that synths were anything other than amoral killing machines. But then I looked at Nick and Sturges, and now… I’m not so sure.
Well, if synths really are the unwilling pawns that the Railroad makes them out to be, that’s just even more reason for me to loathe the Institute.
Nick is very obviously robotic, and yet is one of the most emotive (and moral) characters in the entire game (and if you play the Sole Survivor as a sarcastic ass, he’ll snark right back you like the best of them). That, and the Institute dumped him like garbage because he refused to do their dirty work.
X6-88 is indistinguishable from a human being…or rather, he would be if he didn’t speak all the time in a flat monotone and have a machine-like drive towards the mission objective. He is everything Nick isn’t, which just so happens to be everything the Institute wants: a loyal machine, unbound by any sort of morality.
