With games that let you pick the protagonist’s sex/gender (regardless of if it’s two premade characters, or if there’s a character creator), I usually alternate between male and female.
Just a matter of personal preference.
Plus most FOE protags are female so it feels normal to me.

I play as male characters for Role play. I tried to role play female but I guess it’s not really my forte.
I always play as a male character in most games unless you don’t get to choose.
I prefer Nate voice. And how mean he talk while being sarcastic
It just feels right.
So far I’ve seen a lot of pictures of female sole survivor usually as a lesbian.
Either all artists playing F4 are lesbians, or everyone just picks female.
