It’s a widely held view that Nakamura hasn’t had a great match since arriving on the main roster, which kinda, maybe suggests to me that he was being carried in NXT. Until he pulls off something good with a mid rank talent, I’m considering him the most overrated star in WWE right now.

@Philweasel
it’s not hard to understand

he simply did not want to wrestle “Japanese” style anymore and destroy his body while at the same time being forced to put over younger guys like Omega and Naito

notice that he puts in more effort in matches that he wins , he has been doing this since 2010 in New Japan if not earlier, the guy was always a politician who people gave pass because he had charisma and could put on great matches if he wants to, kinda like Orton

@Broken Adam
Honestly given the hype about him, looking at his star ratings in NJPW is really surprising. He’s really inconsistent, they’re all over the place.

Compare that to Asuka, who’s of a similar age yet throws herself boldly into nearly every match she has.

Added to the fact that Asuka’s likely earned 1/100th of the money Nakamura has during her career, I know who I think is most deserving of their position these days.

Nakamura has his own demons about the time where he was chosen by Inoki to be the ace of the MMA era of New Japan, the moment where he was slapped by Inoki in front of millions is something he never forgot which makes him an insecure figure that can never forget that not only did he fail but Tanahashi also took “his” spot

the guy didn’t even put up a good match when his own friends like Tana and Suzuki where watching him at wrestlemania

Nakamura had definetly pretty good Matches on the Main Roster! Obviously against Styles at WM 34 told a Fine/Good Story with the Heel Turn of Shinsuke afterwards.

He carried Johnboy to a Decent Match on SmackDown last Year, his Match against Orton in September was definetly Enjoyable (the RKO Counter into an Armbar was just Smooth as F*ck!), against Rusev at Fastlane was damn Good for an Opener & his Match against Ziggler on Smackdown was Fine aswell.

Obviously WWE/Corporate putted him in Awful Feuds in 2017 (Trasharaja, Corbin etc. ). They didn’t do him any Favors really, alone those bad Racist Promos by Needles Mahal in September were complete turning off your TV Quality. When I think he was the First One eliminated in the Survivor Series Match, that proves they haven’t booked him correctly in 2017! :o

Listened to Shadows of a Setting Sun already 500 Times & the crazy Part is it gets better everytime I listen to it! One of the Best Heel Themes ever I personally think haha! :D

Speaking of Botches, Titus’ messing up like that should never be forgotten.

Honest, I was kinda watching for the botches anyway. With fifty men, at least a quarter of them will either be green as grass or decades retired, and frankly the botches were some of the most memorable parts of the women’s royal rumble (which suffered a similar problem).

Giggles There is nothing to Spoil, it was just like I told you all a glorified House Show! Will be forgotten as soon the Next Day arrives (except the Titus Part of course XD). :D

Well they both fucked up really.

You know what? I love the Hardy’s, I think they’re legends… but neither of them can really wrestle anymore. And Matt is really bad. They’re alright in a tag team where they can make up for it with their experience as a unit, but as singles competitors I find myself embarrassed at how dated their styles are and how slow and sloppy their moves.

I’m sorry. I feel bad criticizing legit legends.

@QuasarNova
Yeah, I know. But some people have kept up. Chris Jericho for instance can still go, and has even changed up his moveset and style to fit with the changing times. He actually complains in his book that he constantly busts out some awesome new move, only for everyone to copy it, resulting in him having to come up with something else to stay relevant.

And hell, I find Triple H boring, but loads of people still rate him as a wrestler, and the Pedigree still looks great. And Braun uses the same finisher as the British Bulldog.

Simply put, a dated style is no one’s fault but your own. A dated body? Well sorry, but if you’re so banged up that you struggle to put on a decent match, maybe you shouldn’t be a full time singles wrestler.

…I think I’m so angry because I like Matt and Jeff, but when I’m watching them miss their target by half a mile and land flat on their back like a doofus it becomes hard to take them seriously. Jinder suddenly falling over a couple of seconds afterwards kinda saved it for me, because it made it funny rather than embarrassing.

As for Matt, I’m pretty sure the Great Kali moves faster than he does half the time.

I still like the Hardyz D:

I’m sorry… I don’t like being negative. Everyone out there putting their bodies on the line for our entertainment deserves better than being criticized by some lonely internet smark, even Mojo Rawley.

And in other news, I’ve just found out why it was all a bit disappointing… it was freaking 87 degrees out there!

Now Jeff seeming to only be half aware that he was even in a wrestling match makes a lot more sense.
