Actually, Andrew Johnson was also impeached during his first (and only) term. His bid for a second one at the Democratic Convention failed because he became so impopular (something the Republicans don’t seem to be afraid to do for Trump).

The articles of impeachment (obstruction of justice, abuse of power, and contempt of Congress) had been adopted by the Judiciary Commitee, and following a Supreme Court ruling forcing him to surrender the tape recordings of his conversations pertaining to the Watergate, his support in Congress evaporated when the incontrovertible proof of his early involvement in the coverup (and therefore the mendacious nature of his subsequent denials) came to light. Eventually, Nixon announced his resignation on August 8, 1974, eleven days before the House was supposed to start debating the articles, and left the White House the next morning, the only president to ever resign in US history.

Oh that we still had a Congress where incontrovertible proof of the crimes committed would cause those on the side of the president to withdraw their support, instead of continuing to lie and mislead and attack the process itself.

Reminder that Nixon still had higher approval ratings than Trump even at the point of his resignation.

Trump and his administration are not the only ones who should leave the government, How about the entire Republican Party?

Not really. Nixon’s popularity peaked at 68% in 1973, shortly after his re-election, then plummeted to 25% over the course of the year and remained to that level until he resigned (Trump’s has consistently stayed around 40% for nearly his whole tenure).

How long until Trump gets kicked out of office?

Hard to say. We’ve never had a President successfully impeached before. The senate trials we did have ended in acquittal.

Which also I would approve, why do democrats see the renewal of relationship between long time belligerents as a bad thing?
 
Now I don’t wish it but if Trump would get impeached and removed from office, if really you make all the efforts for it and if there’s a few republicans who want to say «fuck it I got enough of this shit», you know you end up with Mr 20,000 volts as your president.
