Why some images, cannot fetch, but can added in description and comments?

Like Lofter’s image, such as https://imglf6.lf127.net/img/0504f7e8f68068fb/eTNIbVN1Y0IrbjYzS1BaRDVyeDVWNUVHd2hEWkdzRGtyV29vV29IZnU1Zz0.jpg.
If fetch, it says “No image found at that address”,
but if use ![](https://imglf6.lf127.net/img/0504f7e8f68068fb/eTNIbVN1Y0IrbjYzS1BaRDVyeDVWNUVHd2hEWkdzRGtyV29vV29IZnU1Zz0.jpg) in description and comments, it shows:

However, the reason is most likely because behind the scenes those two methods of ‘getting the image’ are very different. The first method is more akin to ‘scraping’. Another way of looking at this is that when this site tries to ‘scrape’ the available images, it looks to Lofter like a user who is not logged in, and so the ‘view’ of the image is blocked and the site is redirected to the login page.

And for the second example, it is going to look to Lofter more like someone sharing an image on a blog, which their policies permit.

Given their other policies, I would guess that Lofter doesn’t permit ‘scrapping’ of their site, but will permit hotlinking of images for sites that appear to be blogs.

The workaround, as I’m sure you’ve found, is to download the image you want to upload locally and then upload it.
