(Basically, but it’s more than one country invading. Like every city is it’s own Duchy or kingdom fighting each other while griffons, changeling, Zebra, etc try to conquer the divided lands.)

There was a time the Griffon Empire was the greatest civilization in the known world, with large territory stretching as far as the eye could see, and commanding vast legions of soldiers…now it is a shadow of its former self but is still the strongest in the known world, thankfully the Empire is wracked with infighting, civil wars, along with other wars with the Zebra kingdoms. The Empire now seizes upon the advantage given to them by Equestria’s weakened state and looks to claim new territory and resources in hopes of bringing back their former glory.
