I just watched the episode.
 
||Best episode in the season, no doubt, probably even in my Top 3 favourites of all the seasons.
 

Fair warning, episode spoiler ahead.
 
I loved this episode. It’s pretty much perfect as Pinkie’s rainbow key episode. And while it was super fun, I just gotta say… episodes where Pinkie gets down – and I mean really down – tend to hit me the hardest out of all the Mane Six. Not that I don’t feel sad, too, when the other ponies hit their low points, but Pinkie’s just such a personification of joy that seeing her brought low is like the biggest emotional whammy ever. :(

This episode was God Tier alright.

This was a really great episode. It was by far one of the best uses of Pinkie in the show so far,

Anyone catch that Rainbow Dash is either 20 or 21 years old?
 
Definitely one of the best episodes of the season, and probably one of the best in the entire series.

Oh course, you guys realize now that every episode they make after this is going to have a very noticeable Weird Al shaped hole in it.

But Cheese Sandwich became the party pony he is because of Pinkie.
 
Also, I just knew Cheese would give her something silly for her key.

The episode was zaney yet failed to make me laugh. So i have to give it a low score.  
It was above average

I couldn’t care less about Weird Al being in an episode, but that’s the best Pinkie Pie episode, ever, enough to redeem all of her airhead moments of this season. All the songs are great. Pinkie Pie mood swing was perfect, and even better that she didn’t repeat “Party of One”. Nothing feels out of place. One of the best episode of the series.

Wow that was a good great episode. It’s like all the awesomeness was stolen from the first half of the season and put into this one episode.
 
AKR was always my favorite writer but now… she’s immortal.

They seem to be content with only going into details with the Apple Family, but not with other families of the Mane 6.

Assuming that the candle count actually reflects her age, of course, which isn’t really a given in any situation. And also assuming that the candles were only on one side, which would actually make sense in context, admittedly.
 
Very good Pinkie episode, and I think the first this season that had her as a character instead of a caricature. I’d have to tie it with A Friend in Deed for best Pinkie character exploration, although I’ll admit that I’ve got a thing for seeing characters at their worst.
 
Rainbow Dash moved to Ponyville on her birthday, but from the way that she announced it, that isn’t common knowledge. Has she reached a milemark, or is this the first birthday party that she’s had Pinkie put together for her?
 
It took her some time to warm up to Pinkie, and she was downright disdainful of Fluttershy until Dragonshy, so Rainbow might not have thought of the other Manes as close enough to share her birthday with them at first.

I’m sorry, but this has been the worst episode this season. Had he not been voiced by Weird Al, Cheese Sandwich would’ve been called Gary Stuish in design.
 
Cheese sense reeks of the sort of thing a bad OC would have like “sonic Shadow-boom” or alicorn magic

I will admit that’s true, what with basically being Bubble Berry with different colors.
 
But that didn’t ruin things for me.

That and the entire dialogue outside of the songs could fit on a single page.
 
I did listen to some weird al songs in prep for this episode and None of his parts were of the same quality as his normal songs and his speaking voice isn’t that distinctive.
 
EDIT; You know the 2 villain rule of Superhero movies? I think we need a 3 song rule in mlp episodes. Because 4 or 5 songs in 22 minutes just choked it for me. (if half of them we 30 seconds long like in “friend in deed” it wouldn’t have been as bad)

Cheesy sense was just for the humor and has no impact on the episode, so I don’t think it’s a problem.

But he wasn’t funny. You know how people sometimes complain that pinkie relies too much on “lol random” humour? Well Cheese was this taken too far. The only funny scene this episode was realistic gummy
