… which is why I didn’t use that analogy. I compared overcoming trauma to physiotherapy because they are similar experiences. Both require a long process of engaging with the root causes of pain, the only difference is that one is physical and the other is mental. In fact physical and mental trauma are often tightly interwoven.
 
The rest of what you wrote has almost nothing to do with what I wrote. I belittled nothing, neither did I ever say “get over it”, just like I wouldn’t tell someone with an atrophied limb to just “get over it”.
 
Please don’t put words in my mouth. There aren’t many things that make me truly angry, but that is definitely one of them.

The “so-called” part is most probably the reason for the misunderstanding, if you meant it as simply to describe the event of vividly reliving a trauma and not in a dismissive context of the “trigger-event” being some sort of a make believe concept that does not exist. “So-called” as a statement has at least two interpretation to it and I’ve seen this thread approach every concept within feminism with high amount of skepticism, so when I put words in your mouth it is due to this reason.
 
As for the physiotherapy analogy, I will still maintain my stance that in this specific topic, it does not reach every instance on how some people have to deal with the trauma. It is not always wise to reach for the root of the issue and depending how severe the trauma is, might only cause a backlash that sets a person back, which in return could make a chain reaction that makes the person shut off and refuse anymore help due to the fear of the help causing mental anguish.

Since we’re kind of on the topic of “trigger warnings,” Team Four Star (the guys who do the really good DBZ and Hellsing abridged parodies) has made it clear that they are sick and tired of tumblr’s antics regarding “trigger warnings.”

but on that point has anyone been noticing a bunch of artist are showing there true colores? because I’m noticing quite a few of artist that I know have come out of the Dildo closet.

@DanielTepesKraus Actually weapons in school would probably promote a helluva lot more understanding and miles less bullying. You’d have kids challenging each other like in Edwardian times, settling disputes through fancy footwork and a few jabs across the face. You can bet nobody fucks with sikhs unless they’re packing heat or planning to bomb the place. Well, granted all martial arts are about discipline, but there’s a feeling in the west that if something is ‘non-lethal’ it’s okay to go running around punching everything in the belly or judo-tossing them into the ground. (Just look at their police forces!) With weapons-based martial arts you know that about 90% of the attacks you land will be potentially lethal, maybe around 60% if you face someone equally skilled. So you’re less likely to haul off and shank a mutha just because they were being little bitchfaces.  
Then there’s also the artistic application as well, in that a lot of old world and religious forms, they ‘graduate’ you by having you make your own weapon. You learn all about molding, firing, tempering, and folding. One can easily imagine someone who has learned such a thing deciding to take up an artistic sculpting pursuit, or perhaps it sparks an interest in working metal with modern equipment, and then the children decide they’d like to be welders.
 
@Turkeynomster so-called, because a good majority of tumblr doesn’t know what the fuck a trigger really is. They seem to equate it with “I dislike x principle, object. Onoes, I have heard/seen something related to it by a single letter, I AM NOW TRIGGERED.” Hell, for like 3 years there’ve been a group of nutters campaigning to change the name of the ‘rape seed’ because it’s triggering. They are to triggers what PeTA is to towns named Turkey and Fishkill.
