Side note; I keep trying to post a thread that catches on. Here I go again. Hope my frequency is tolerable….

So, I have this big fascination with messy sketches. Especially when it comes to a finished piece. I hope I am not the only one who loves it when artist share this process. Very rarely do I actually sketch the and ink line art on the same page as the finished piece.

I suppose I am really old school when it comes to the original design of animation. The back ground is on a separate page and so are the items in play. Coffee cups, tables, and other things. I sketch then trace onto an official page. However, the whole sketching process is probably my favorite.
Anyone else have this sort of thing? I honestly wish more artist were unashamed of the trashy sketch underneath. I truly believe unless you have a rats nest of a scratchy sketch your not doing art.
