Is Muslim Fluttershy a bad stereotype or no?

I was just scrolling through Twitter yesterday, and then found a tweet about how there are some toxic fans attacking an artist for doing the Mane 6 in human forms.
Don’t worry, I can confirmed that the artist is doing alright now, they did not know they just became famous, and some positive fans do like their art

Anyways, I was looking at the comments and spotted some not only some positive comments, tho there are two positive critics referring to the artist’s design as a Muslim. What both of the positive critics states that its a stereotype for a person that have a hijab being calm or shy, which is weird cause there are some people that do felt represented by a Muslim Fluttershy, that they felt represented that their own culture is use well.
Then there are a few others I spotted saying that it’s a bad stereotype…

Now leading up to the main question, do you think Muslim Fluttershy is a bad stereotype, or no, especially during times like these where politics are all over the place?

Islam has a strong emphasis on peace and humility. It suits her well.

Islam isn’t much different from Christianity.

People might think it’s forced, but it’s not. It fits well. People are just way more intolerant to other cultures than they think, which is a shame; America is for anyone who likes freedom, and hates England.

I have kind of seen a theme of shy, introverted, gentle characters being the most often depicted as Muslims or in more technical terms - being depicted as Hijabi. The first example that comes to mind is Sunny from Wings Of Fire. I see art of her depicted as muslim often, although that could be because she’s a Sandwing which is a whole other ballpark I refuse to even set foot in.

Regardless, I don’t have much personal connection or knowledge on the subject given I’m not Muslim, but I’m in social groups mostly comprised of Muslim and Arab people, most of which are some of my closest friends and I’m a little more perceptive to stereotypes against these groups of people due to it. I’ve never heard any of them express any concern about the topic (given it doesn’t really seem like a pressing matter, especially in today’s climate) but I will say even from an outsider’s POV, I can kind of see how it’s inherently viewed as a negative stereotype?

People more often than not associate shyness or being introverted as ‘submissive’ or ‘domesticated’. The “ultra-giga submissive female” is a stereotype that is most commonly placed upon Arab or Muslim women, which is probably what people are referring to when they say Muslim/Hijabi Fluttershy is a bad faith stereotype.

Though to me, (not like it matters all that much) I don’t think the issue at hand is that we shouldn’t HC Fluttershy or similar shy/introverted characters as Muslim, it’s that we should probably be more open and receptive to doing the same with characters who aren’t shy/introverted, because those character archetypes have been leading the charge of Muslim HCs since forever, and continuing to only do so for these certain characters is probably why people view it as negative now.

(HC stands for Headcanon, btw.. if that wasn’t obvious. Also excuse any grammar or spelling mistakes, English IS my first language but I’m dyslexic and stupid.)

I’m a bit of a self taught philosophy student and in my opinion the idea of a muslim fluttershy is completely absurd. I’d have to move to the religion thread and risk getting into hot water to explain why. but tldr: Absolutely not she’d never convert in the first place and would probably deconvert if she was born into it.

It depends, that faith has derivations (like those that take the Bible®) although the perspective that we have seen are things derived from post-September campaigns, there are still currents within that faith that are not extreme.
I don’t care, it would be interesting to see, even if you take away the religious factor, just exploring cultural aspects.
And if you think:“But that faith is dangerous”, mention some faith that does not have in its history an event linked to death for ideals, the difference is that you are more familiar to the lady of the local church who hands out pamphlets of the dangers of “non-Americans” and tells you to worry about the future of “the good nation”.
