The idea is a but of a stretch which would require more in-depth backstory about the Changelings, but I doubt Hasbro or even IDW would dwell deep into that.

Considering the headcanon that they’re all just hivemind bee-like bugs (mentally wise) it seems almost impossible for them to have such a structure that would allow free ability. Though, we HAVE seen Officers, and they’re completely clad in armor, so they must have some that’re different.
