While I’ve mostly found a lot of Sonicized ponies to look weird, Pinkie looks actually really good here. Good job.

As a Sonic fan myself, I’ve had bad experiences with Sonic fans, but I’ve also had some good ones, as well.
 
Same said for the brony fandom, which isn’t exactly a “utopia” either.

My personal favourite was during the cowbot episode, when he outright asks, “What’s up with you and Amy?” and Sonic just freezes.

I kind of get the impression a lot of people simply had bad experiences with the Sonic fandom.

It seems that almost every time a certain blue hedgehog appears here, he’s shot down like a one-winged pegasus.
 
I know that he has his fair share of haters here, but the guy seems cursed to be forever shunned from this site.

The buzzer depends on the other person’s answer. Dr. Eggman still believes Sonic and Amy are an item, as multiple episodes can testify to.

I assumed that was one of those, “Everybody thinks they’re dating. It’s totally obvious they’re together,” kind of deals. Like I said, they’re pretty close, spend a lot of time together and enjoy each others company. Can’t blame people for simply assuming they’re already an item.
 
Not going to lie, I eagerly want to see when, if and how the writers’ll pull it off if they choose to do so. I also want to see if there’re any jokes about how desperately Amy tries to hide her feelings (e.g. with Tail’s truth machine, that picture she claimed was just, a “picture of a platonic friend (I) have no romantic feelings for,”) but almost everyone, even Knuckles, can tell.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I watched Brodown Showdown, and they aren’t anywhere near dating.
 
I mean, sure in previous episodes they spend time together, Eggman (in Sonic’s body) observed Sonic was scheduled to watch a chick flick with her and they seem pretty close, but dating’s going too far.
 
Especially since in Sonic Boom Amy’s really trying to keep her feelings under wraps.

Brodown Showdown pretty much confirmed Sonamy, Sonic just gets mad when you call Amy his girlfriend even though they are dating. Heck, the ending to Secret Rings and Black Knight was just Sonic telling a story instead of explaining why he was late for his date with Amy.

The only way you could tell would probably be wings, horn, and tail. Though any anthro form, when it gets close to human, would be hard to tell.

That’s saying something when even somebody who doesn’t like Sonic is tired of the “Sonic drama” on Derpibooru.
 
And while I am a Sonic fan, I will agree that neither fanbase is perfect, and are guilty of the same things they tend to demonize each other over.
 
Like I saw a brony on DA demonize Sonic fans for making “terrible recolor OCs,” his DA gallery was full of MLP recolor OCs…  
I also saw a Sonic fan bash bronies for making lewd fanart… Said person drew some rather suggestive Sonic character pics.  
Both sides seriously need to chill, and take a long look in the mirror.
 
The drama between both fanbases is also ironic, as believe it, or not, many bronies are actually Sonic fans. So the haters are probably just an outspoken minority of fans for all we know.

Okay, I’ll concede Pinkie’s cute here. But like you said, the problem is for ponies there isn’t really a way to differentiate them from other animals. Since they all wear footwear, you can’t even rely on the hooves.

The reason I thought that was because it fits Pinkie well. The thing about Sonic’s anthro style that makes it seem to not work is the fact that all the anthro creatures look similar to each other. Hedgehog, Echidna, Cat, Fox, Bunny, Pony, the only way to tell the difference on most is by their creature-specific features (aside from the bunny, they all have similar ear structures) like the tails.

I think the snout’s more the problem. It makes them look distinctly non-ponylike.

with that little heart on their noses, the ponies here look more like carebears

I have to disagree with you there. I don’t think the artstyle gels well with ponies.
 
I guess it’s because I genuinely can’t tell what Pinkie’s supposed to be here. Sonic and Amy are clearly hedgehogs, Charmy’s a bee, Tails a fox and there’s no way you’d mistake what Vector’s supposed to be, but in the Sonic artstyle I don’t see anything remotely pony-like about Pinkie.

The Sonic art-style is actually a good one for anthro-ponies, it seems to me, at least if you want them to still looks cartoonish and cute.

You have to understand that at this point, Sonic artwork is pretty much on the level of mouthpiece or OC art. A lot of people will have a kneejerk, “Gah! I hate this!” reaction.
 
Personally, I’d just leave it be rather than downvoting for the crime of being something I don’t like. Otherwise, there’d be a lot of shipping and fetish pic with my downvotes on them.

There’s bad sonic art that can and should be criticized and then there’s this which is fine and getting downvotes because someone saw sonic and went “NO I DONT LIKE THIS BAD”
 
I hate Sonic as of late. He’s had nothing good come about. His fandom is terrible. I’m just saying this fandom REALLLLYYY seems to believe they’re the lesser of two evils. I’m not against opinions, just, it bugs me when people hate well done things with effort put into them as if it’s some kind of thing they HAVE to do.

did you hear to@JakeTheSpy, guys? don´t criticize sonic in this site, even if some artist just make the ponies look like generic cat-like sonic characters, or the jokes in the pictures are unfunny.

What is y’alls point? Are you trying to put down the Sonic fandom to make yourself feel more secure about being in the MLP fandom? It’s no better, if not worse when it comes to bad OCs/fics/fanart. Just enjoy the good stuff when it comes about.
