To be fair, I think the first wave dolls had sparser rooted hair than the later ones, I have a basic Fluttershy with peg feet and her rooting is horrible.

Trixie has a ponytail and her rooting is okay. Some other EG dolls without ponytails are just half-bald :(

Any rooted doll hair in a ponytail isn’t going to look that great when you take it down and part it to show the rooting. It’s not going to look like that always.
