I would say then that you learn REALLY quickly, and have some seriously impressive natural skills
The program I use is “DP Animation Maker”. There’s a free trial available and I’d recommend giving it a shot! It animates much faster than something like flash or after effects, it is a lot simpler but that also makes it more limited. I think it’s a good trade-off and it makes it much friendlier for beginners.

I have had under a year of practice with this program and ~2 years with photoshop, but I wasn’t unfamiliar with the process before I started.

Oh, okay. I shall keep trying my best to animate.
I suspect that it is less the software that makes it so the artist can do this so fast, as much as the artists raw skill and most likely YEARS of experience. I have seen some seriously skilled artists make impressive work in MS Paint. On the other side of the coin, someone like me, even with the best software, would find it near impossible to even come close to this piece.
Skill and experience. THAT is the deciding factor here.
