The few times we’ve seen Dragons, they’ve either been active on a volcano, or asleep on a normal mountain.
I suppose the Gryphon one makes sense.

Griffons fly in high altitudes and generally live in mountainous regions. Dragons live in a similar fashion, usually establishing themselves in caves and crevices in the mountains. Winters don’t drive out either race in the most extreme conditions so general lowland winter is nothing to them.
Neither Spike or Gilda have any need for clothing thanks to their species’ natural resilience to cold climates.
Spike is a dragon and it’s shown that he’ll be awake during winter as well whereas reptiles hibernate.
Isn’t spike technically a reptile, and so he needs warmth to stay awake…? Or are you referring to dragonfire’s warmth?
And Gilda is part lion, which are accustomed to a warm climate…
That’s probably true to some extent.
If I liked shipping fanfiction, I would’ve read some … ‘Spilda?’ But since I find it boring, I’ll be happy with pictures like this.
I think most like them together because they are outcasts in that they are not ponies and because of that we feel that they would have a better understanding of each other. I would like to see them together but they have well proven that they don’t want to work with spike anymore then they need to.
This is really good, though.
