Considering the recent mention of “flying badgers” found within Discord’s pocket dimension, the lacking of logic behind the bear’s colouring, and the plot point they could make from having it chase the mailpony outside to then get lost, giving the reason behind it’s rage (Honey Badgers in real life are one of the most viscious mammals and have short tempers) and the appearance of Discord to take it back home as a harmless solution to the problem leads me to believe that this will be the latter.  
I mean seriously, only something as relentlessly angry as a honey badger would be able to withstand the power of THE STARE…
