You know, if Cook wanted to turn Rarity and the rest of the mane six into parodies of themselves, that’s fine, that works for stories that don’t take themselves too seriously.
 
Problem is this does not really do anything except boil their characters down to one-notes, you can’t even really defend that as anything other than just lazy.

Uncreative types love to complain and nitpick about everything. I guess it makes them feel better about themselves. If you don’t like the comics, don’t read them. Simple as that. If you don’\t like that, then try growing up and realizing that this world does not exist solely to please you.

  1. Yes, the thing about Rarity is that she isn’t those stereotypes, she doesn’t hit on every hunky boy that comes across her way, almost like a real fucking person would.
     
  2. On both those cases, Rarity had a long-term attraction to them because of their careers and lives, not just because they were hunky.

It’s that she literally does it in every single Cook comic, coupled with the fact that she doesnt really get much time to shine overall in them (plus the dumb “I LOVE OUTLET SHOPPING” line), it makes her seem like a bad pastiche.

Oh come on, really? Rarity being a flirt is something worth getting all worked up over? It fits the character just fine - Trenderhoof and Blueblood come to mind - and it’s one of those little ways the comics aren’t as restricted as the show.
