Edited because: Rule 7
It absolutely sickens me that this whole dress thing got more media attention than Leonard Nimoy’s death.
One of the articles I saw– politely telling everyone to shut up already because the friggin’ thing is clearly blue with black trim– pointed out something so obvious that almost everyone missed it: most of the people who incorrectly saw it as somehow being white and gold were looking at their LED screens at too steep an angle, which meant that the bad cell phone photograph taken under bad lighting conditions was desaturated so much that people with weird eyeballs could see it as being darkly-shaded white.
to me it’s undoubtedly black and blue even before I knew anything about it. that’s how it is for EVERY picture I’ve seen of the thing. I don’t get this white business at all
Its blue and black
The blue should be stated first because the black is a trim.
Which is all the same fine because your eyes are just trying to do their job.
There is no joke. It’s one of the silliest, most pointless discussions I have ever seen.
Someone posts picture of dress to Tumblr, I guess asking what color it is. People answered either “White and gold” or “Black and blue”. Thus sparking a debate that blew up over Twitter and got to mainstream news outlets.
The dress is actually blue and black. However our eyes may sometimes perceive it as gold and white. Our brains will often adjust the color tone of what we’re seeing based on setting, warm colors in the morning and bluer tints at mid-day. To make a length argument brief and to fit in my wimpy understanding of how eyes work: they’re not perfect.
I’ll just post the ABC article I read on it.
The joke here is… Something, I dunno. Trying to ride the meme wave because teh lulz?

Well, if you do not want us to stop…
White and gold is so odd. I can only see parts of the gold, but no white at all!
