He’s been around long before “The Other” his real first appearance was near the start of JMS’s run when Peter met Ezikel Sims (a man who has the same spider powers but acquired them differently) who told him about the possibilities that their may be more mysticism to his powers IE “animal totems” & how he now has to fear for his life with the “apex predator” that is Morlun.
 
It seriously took a grilling 2 sleepless days to beat Morlun the first time & it nearly cost him his life.
 
Morlun also fought Black Panther but folks seem to forget about that since T’Challa was pretty C-Rank at the time.

I really hate Morlun. He is plain simple, a boring villain sue. That´s it. They make him as strong as the Hulk and put him against Spiderman just for the sake of doing it. I´m sorry, but this guy is exasperating. Venom had better reasons to want to see Spidey dead than him.

Plus he smacked Mary Jane a bit and when Peter revived as The Other, yeah that is what set off the fuse.
 
Plus his ability is absorb the life force of each touch an animal totem he confronts. More ya punch him, the more stronger he gets so that is pretty a pretty sensible reason how he sorta killed pete the 2nd time they met.

Ah. I suppose that WOULD tick Spidey off, though the idea that Morlun was the FIRST villain to ever really do that is laughable.

Yes and Morlun sorta offed Spidey. While fighting though, he took peter’s eye and ate it, then beat him ti death.

Isn’t Morlun the guy who was supposedly the first supervillain that really ticked Spidey off (despite the fact that much of the rest of his rouge’s gallery had done plenty of things to tick him off)?
